Office Politics is a Key Skill Schools Failed to Teach Us

Office politics exist in all workplaces, schools, universities and organisations. They are the actions and behaviour involving competition for status or power in a workplace. It is the ultimate reality and it is there even if you try to deny or, you try not to care about it. Note that you do not need to be a bad person to engage in office politics. Those people who do politics are not bad, but rather smart.

What you did will not speak for itself. Office politics affect your job performance and determine your promotion and career.

The best strategy for office politics is to play with it. You are unable to avoid it even if you do not want to engage. You will be much better off if you know it exists, it applies and you have the skills to cope with it or even master it.

People who are good at office politics was not born with it. They learned it. With good advice, you can learn it too. You will have to know the politics in your office and work on it, because it will determine whether you can survive in this office and how well you can do.
